Our Story

Born from a parent's worry

The internet was never built for children. Autoplay feeds, harmful recommendations and endless distraction sit one tap away — and for Muslim families, precious little of it reflects our values or our deen.

So a small team of Muslim parents and engineers set out to build the app they wished existed: real parental control, a walled garden of scholar-reviewed content, and Islamic learning that little hearts actually enjoy — all in one place.

Today Kahf Kids protects 300,000+ families across the world. The mission hasn't changed: give parents peace of mind, and give children a screen time they'll never have to feel guilty about.

Why It Matters

The real risk isn't screen time — it's what's on the screen

UNICEF's 2025 global report concludes that the greatest risks to children come from exposure to harmful content, cyberbullying and online abuse — not simply the amount of time spent on a device.

1B
children face violence each year

Up to one billion children aged 2–17 experience physical, emotional or sexual violence annually — and digital platforms increasingly contribute to these harms.

9–12
typical age of first exposure

Online-safety organisations report first exposure to pornography commonly occurs between ages 9 and 12 — some children even earlier, through social media, gaming or accidental searches.

4–12
the most vulnerable ages

Children in this range often lack the cognitive maturity to tell harmful, manipulative or inappropriate content apart from trustworthy information.

The online risks Muslim families most want to filter

These are exactly the kinds of content parents seek to supervise with parental controls and curated children's platforms — the gaps Kahf Kids is built to close.

Pornography and sexualised videos
Music and entertainment that conflict with Islamic values
Gambling and betting promotions
Violent or graphic content
Profanity and inappropriate language
Content on relationships or lifestyles shown to young children, against a family's wishes
Influencer content promoting materialism, immodesty or unhealthy lifestyles
Unmoderated YouTube recommendations that drift from innocent videos to inappropriate material

What We Believe

Our Values

The principles behind every feature we ship and every video we approve.

Deen first

Every decision is weighed against Islamic values. Scholars review our content so families never have to second-guess.

Safety by default

A walled garden, not an open feed. No ads, no harmful recommendations, no surprises — protection is the starting point.

Trust with parents

Parents stay in control with clear tools and honest choices. We answer to families, not to an algorithm.

Learning with joy

Qur'an, prophet stories and creative games children genuinely love — because good habits should feel delightful.

Simple, always

Powerful controls that set up in minutes. If a busy parent can't use it in two taps, we keep refining.

One ummah

Content in many languages for families everywhere — because every Muslim child deserves a safe screen.
